Aeropress Brew Guide




Like the geysers that shoot out of Lake Bogoria in the Rift Valley, the Aeropress uses steam to liberate flavors from coffee.


Want to know what makes the Aeropress so enjoyable?

Well it’s small, has a cylindrical chamber & is perfect for brewing one cup at a time. It’s designed around a filter cap, a chamber, and a plunger, it can make espresso-style coffee, plunger-assisted drip coffee, and even brew immersion-style coffee. All you have to do is flip it upside down.



What you need


Coffee dripper

Coffee filters
Kettle grinder
Digital scale timer
Stirring tool
Mug


Step1

Put the paper filter into the base and rinse well.

Rinsing gets rid of the paper taste, and also pre-warms your cup (don’t forget to thoughtfully discard this water from your cup before brewing).


Step2

Screw in the cap and place your AeroPress on top of your vessel.

A regular mug will do just fine.


Step3

Grind 14g of coffee and place in the AeroPress.

Freshly ground is always best, and for AeroPress it should be similar in size to rough beach sand.

Step4

Pour 200g of just-boiled water into the AeroPress.

We recommend using filtered water if possible, just off the boil


Step5

Stir well, then attach the plunger (top part) of the AeroPress.

Once you put the top on, you’ll form a seal and stop any more water from draining through into your cup.


Step6

Wait 2 minutes, remove the plunger once more and then stir a further 3 times.

This will help increase extraction and give you a stronger flavour!


Step7

Reattach the plunger and press gently.

It takes a little bit of pressure to push the water through the paper. You’re aiming for this step to take around 30 seconds. If the coffee comes out too quickly, grind finer; if the water comes out too slowly and is difficult to press, grind coarser.


Step8

Enjoy!
